CBD is actually called Cannabidiol, it is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid compound found in hemp plants. Unlike THC, which is abundant in marijuana plants, CBD does not cause a ‘high.’

CBD is safe for human consumption, and test results have proven it can offer significant health benefits. Many of these tests are on-going however results look extremely positive.

How Does CBD Work?

CBD interacts with the Endocannabinoid system inside the human body. This is a system of receptors creates the homeostasis that balances basic functions of the human body, such as the immune system, pain management, and inflammatory response as well as brain functions including mood and memory.

Compounds Found in Hemp

THC and CBD are the well-known compounds found in hemp plants, however there are many other compounds also present. Like any plant, there are numerous varieties of hemp plant all with slightly different properties. In order to maximise the quantity and quality of CBD, we exclusively use the Sativa variety of Hemp which organically only has small trace amounts of THC. By using this plant variety it ensures a higher CBD yield and the THC is easier to extract and remove as naturally it is occurring in smaller quantities.
